Gerri Detweiler is a credit and small business expert with more than two decades of experience writing about credit, small business and finance. She has been interviewed in more than 3,500 news stories, and answered over 10,000 credit questions online. Gerri is education director for Nav, which matches business owners to their best financing options and provides provides simple tools to build strong business credit.

Gerri has been writing for The Balance SMB since 2019. She covers small business credit and financing strategies for entrepreneurs.

Gerri holds a bachelor’s degree in international business/political affairs from Taylor University. She earned her master’s degree in adult education/psychology from Vermont College at Norwich University.
